Warwickshire Police warn of ‘extremely dangerous’ illegal pills containing high levels of ecstasy

The pills, which are a red/pink colour, have a high concentration of the Class A drug and could be life-threatening.

One of the tablets has the word Bucatti written across it and the other has a symbol which is similar to that used by Creamfields festival.

The warning follows the death of a teenager in Nuneaton on May 31 this year. Although it is unknown whether he took these drugs.

The pills are circulating around the county.

Detective Sergeant James Coleman said: “We are urging the public not to be tempted to take these tablets or any other type of illegal drug.

“Any drug can be potentially fatal and we know these pills do contain a much higher dose of MDMA (ecstasy) and it would be extremely dangerous to take them.

“It is illegal to buy and sell drugs, and we are continuing with our enquiries to trace the suppliers of these pills.

“We are eager to hear from anyone who has been offered pills which match this description.

“We want to take drugs off our streets and we do not want to see anyone harmed as a result of taking these tablets or any other.

“If you have seen anyone selling these drugs, or have any information to do with them, please call police on 101. Alternatively, you can report anything anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
