'What a plonker!' Stunned police overtaken by a speeding driver near Wellesbourne - in a three wheel Reliant Robin

In a scene straight out of Only Fools and Horses, the driver was caught and reported by the officers

Police were stunned when their unmarked vehicle was overtaken by a speeding driver - in a three wheel Reliant Robin.

The vehicle was caught speeding on the A429 near Wellesbourne in excess of the speed limit.

A police spokesperson said they were surprised, adding: "We stopped the vehicle and reported the driver accordingly."

And in reference to the comedy Only Fools in and Horses, in which Del Boy drives something very similar, the police joked: "What a plonker!"

Note: Yes, we are aware that Del Boy drives a Reliant Regal Supervan III and not a Reliant Robin!
