Where you can see live fireworks in south Warwickshire

In Leamington, the Old Leamingtonians RFC in Bericote Road, Blackdown, is hosting the town’s main fireworks event on Tuesday November 5, with gates opening at 6pm, bonfire lighting at 7pm and fireworks display at 7.45pm. Burgers, hotdogs, chips and soft drinks will be available near the bonfire and in the clubhouse and the clubhouse bar will be open. Entry costs £3 at the gate.

Warwick Lions are running their annual event at Warwick Racecourse on Saturday (November 2), with free parking. Gates open at 5pm and the bonfire-lighting and fireworks display take place at 6.30pm. There will be a children’s fun area with bouncy castles and hot refreshments. Tickets cost £4 in advance or £5 on the gate, while children under 12 can gain free entry in advance or £1 entry at the gate. Tickets are available at Warwick and Leamington tourist information centres, at Warwick and Woodloes post offices and at various shops in Warwick.

Kenilworth Castle’s ‘extravaganza’ - organised by Kenilworth Round Table - takes place on Saturday, with gates opening at 5.30pm and last entry at 6.45pm. Free Radio will be at the event and there will be a food court. Tickets cost £7.50 in advance or £10 on the gate, while prices for under-14s are £3 in advance or £5 on the gate. Call 07512 264126.

Our Lady and St Wulstan’s church in Southam is hosting its charity bonfire event at Southam Cricket Club on Saturday, with the bonfire lighting at 7pm and the fireworks display at 7.30pm. There will be jacket potatoes, hot dogs, soup, hot and cold drinks and the cricket club bar will be open. Entry costs £3 or £2 for children, with proceeds donated to local charities. Call 812351.

Hilltop Farm in Hunningham is giving people the opportunity to mark Bonfire Night on the 5th of November (Tuesday). As well as a bonfire and fireworks display (from 7pm), there will be hot dogs, soup, a pig roast, mulled wine, a bar and a children’s play area. The evening starts at 5.30pm. Whitnash’s fireworks event usually takes place at St Joseph’s Primary School, but the Courier has been told that the event has had to be cancelled this year due to health and safety concerns.
