She was visited by Whitnash mayor Cllr Robert Margave who wished her a happy birthday on behalf of the town’s residents.

Born along with her twin brother on February 25 1911, Minnie attended Chatham Grammar School in Kent where she was keen athlete, enjoying running and high jump.

Her hobbies included tapestry, gardening and dancing - which she would go on to win prizes for.

Leaving school at 15, Minnie worked in the insurance department for the Co-op in Gillingham and later the general office.

Good with ledgers and figures, Minnie took a job at the Co-op’s bank.

She met Rundle at a dance in Chatham in 1933 and they married on April 11 1936 in Rochester followed by a honeymoon to Bournemouth.

Minnie and her husband moved to Belfast in 1947 where he went to work on developing sea planes and then to Leamington where he joined Flavels.

Eventually they were able to buy a brand new house in Radford Semele and later moved to Warwick in 1968.
