Hearing of their friends’ situation, Warwick Gates couple Natalie Shaw-Capehorn and Scott Chambers, Mr Blackwell’s mother Ann, his brother David and his brother’s partner Nicki Simpson and Miss Brooks’ parents Lilian and Paul and her cousin Rachael Hughes have all played a part in the campaign to get the family’s lives back on track.

This has included an appeal on Facebook for donations of clothing and other items, as well as appealing to supermarkets in and around Leamington to provide food vouchers and other stores to see if they would replace some of the family’s damaged items.

Miss Shaw-Capehorn said: “I put out an appeal to my friends on Facebook and it hasn’t stopped - there are still people coming back to me.

“Scott and I just couldn’t stand there and do nothing, we wanted to help.

“As a mother of four I know how devastating it would feel for a fire to affect the kids in any way, we want them to know everything will be OK.

“But we are over the moon they are still here - that means so much more than material things.”
