Witnesses sought after Fenny Compton collision

Police are appealing for witnesses after a bus and van collided near Fenny Compton, swerving off the road and into a hedge.

A blue and gold Stagecoach Midland bus and Ford Transit flat bed van, which was being used to place road safety warnings for hedge cutting, collided on the A423 on February 23.

The collision took place outside Wormleighton Grange Farm at around 1pm as both vehicles were travelling in the direction of Southam.

Both the bus and van then left the road and hit the hedge, leaving the driver and four passengers on the bus, as well as the driver of the van with slight injuries.

Fire crews were on scene to help empty the bus, and the road was closed for several hours whilst the vehicles were recovered.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact PC Al Hepburn on 101 quoting incident number 140 of February 23.
