A woman in her 60s died at the scene of a fatal collision on the A5 in Northamptonshire, police have confirmed.

Hide AdThe incident happened at around 2.20pm on Tuesday (October 24) on the A5, Watling Road, between Crick and Watford Gap, near to the Venture Caravans Shop and the village of Watford.
The collision involved a car, a van and a lorry. Sadly, the driver of the van died at the scene. Nobody else was injured.
A Northamptonshire Police spokeswoman said: “A collision occurred between a grey Ford Fiesta, a red Vauxhall Combo van, a white MAN lorry and a white Volvo car.

Hide Ad“Sadly, the driver of the van, a woman in her 60s, died at the scene. The occupants of the other vehicles were not injured.”
Police are now appealing for witnesses.
Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have dash cam footage of the collision.

Hide AdEmergency services at the scene warned that the road would be closed in both directions for most of Tuesday, following the collision.
National Highways referred to the incident as a “serious multi vehicle” collision.
Drivers were warned to avoid the area.
The road reopened at around 11pm, so was closed for just under nine hours in total.
