Woman sexually assaulted in pub toilet

A woman has been sexually assaulted in a pub toilet.

The incident took place at The Elephant and Castle pub in Emscote Road, Warwick, at about 11.40pm, on Tuesday (May 26).

Warwickshire Police is appealing for information.

A police spokesperson said: “The victim, a 22-year old woman from Warwick, was sexually assaulted by an unknown man in the ladies toilets of the pub. During the assault, the victim’s friend knocked on the door of the toilet and the victim exited the bathroom with her and left the premises.

“The suspect told the victim that his name was ‘Jamie’, though this may not be his real name. He is described as white, around 36-years-old, approximately 5’8’’ in height with short dark brown hair and stubble on his face. At the time of the incident he was wearing a t-shirt, three quarter length trousers with trainers and socks. He is also described as having a ‘slight paunch’.”

Police are appealing for anyone who was in the pub on the evening of Tuesday May 26 and may have witnessed anything suspicious to come forward by calling 101 and asking for Detective Constable Edward Doxey on extension 4018, quoting incident 4 of 27th May 2015.
