Workers form picket line outside Warwick district council’s HQ
Public sector workers are currently picketing outside Warwick District Council’s Leamington headquarters as part of national strike action taking place today.
The Unison members, pictured here, are among the local government workers, teachers, civil servants, and firefighters who are campaigning over a range of issues, including attacks on pay and pensions and workloads.
Tony Foster, Warwick district advisor for Unison, said: “Unison hopes this day of action will illustrate to the Government that all council staff are finding it difficult to live with today’s high cost of living and they desperately need a higher percentage wage increase than the last offer of one per cent.”
