Teasing his return to his Instagram followers, the fitness star said, “Guess who’s back with ‘Wake Up With Joe’[?]”

Explaining his decision to return to regular workouts, he said, “I promised if we went back into a lockdown I would be here to help you get through it and I’m now committing to filming and sharing 3 new workouts a week until lockdown is over however long that takes.”

However, unlike his ‘PE with Joe’ videos that were made famous during the first lockdown, these will not be live workouts, but pre-recorded sessions.

On Instagram, Wicks clarified, “This will not be LIVE workouts but pre-recorded short 15-minute energy and mood boosting workouts to help you stay fit and find some positivity, energy and help with your mental health. You can then choose to do the workouts at a time which suits you.

“I need this just as much as you. Our mental health is suffering but we can get through this lockdown together and come out stronger both physically and mentally.”

The Body Coach

Joe Wicks, who is known as The Body Coach, has one of the most followed Instagram and YouTube fitness accounts in the world.

During the first pandemic lockdown, Wicks grew a large following thanks to his daily ‘PE with Joe’ videos on YouTube, helping to keep children stay active through livestreams. The videos were viewed by over a million people worldwide.

He won a Guinness World Record for ‘most viewers for a fitness workout live stream on YouTube’ in March, and was awarded an MBE in the 2020 Birthday honours list for his services to fitness and charity.
