Adams, from Leamington, was just four when he started roller skating, progressing to artistic skating, which mirrors ice dancing, when he was seven.

The Wyken Artistic Rollers Skating Club member was the youngest competitor in the mini men’s section in Portugal last year, receiving a standing ovation from the Italians after a superb display of flexibility.

And, following on from victory in the long programme at the Nationals in Andover last month, Adams is targetting a podium place when the Cup of Europe ventures to Dijon, France, at the end of July.

“I really hope I get into the top three this year as I was so close last year,” said Adams.

“I couldn’t have done it without the support of my coach Pat and my mum and dad.”

Adams is looking for sponsorship to help fund his trips with the Great Britain squad.

Anyone interested in helping him should contact his mum, Lucinda, on 07534 476091.
