Amanda falls at the final hurdle

Seven trophies were up for grabs at Kenilworth’s finals days at Crackley Lane.

The golf croquet Pindi Cup broke new ground with Amanda Haslam the first woman in the club’s history to compete in finals weekend.

The event was even more memorable for the Haslam family with Amanda competing against her father Nigel, who eventually prevailed in a competitive battle.

The other golf final, the Kenilworth Cup, was won by Adrian Morris who was also successful in the Short Lawn Taylor Cup.

The main association croquet cups, the St George and the Secunderabad were both contested by Peter Dennis and Cliff Daniel.

Both matches were extremely close but honours were even with Daniel winning the St George and Dennis winning the Secunderabad.

The Douglas Trophy for higher handicappers was won by John Clark in a tight match against newcomer Jamie Clark.

Earlier, the Castle Cup for advanced association croquet was won by John Leader who beat Henry Fellows, the winner of the previous four finals.
