This popular 5K event was first staged in 2009 as the target event for the inaugural Beginners’ Ladies’ Running Group. The Ladies’ Running Group and the Ready Steady Fun Run continue to grow in popularity year on year and organisers are hoping for another record year.

This year’s Beginners (both ladies and men) are currently training hard for, what will be for most of them, their first ever 5k run and they’d like to invite everyone to join in the fun.

Runner or spectator, they’re hoping to see plenty there supporting both them, and local good causes. All proceeds from entry fees will be split between Hope4, this year’s chosen charity and Rugby & Northampton Athletic Club. Local charity Hope 4 work to relieve poverty amongst homeless and badly-housed people throughout the borough. There will also be a collection for Rugby Foodbank on the day.

The Ready Steady Fun Run 5K is a one-lap course starting and finishing at the Rugby Athletics track. All finishers will receive a medal and goody bag. Prizes will be awarded for the first team back, plus first three men, women and juniors (U16s). To help put the fun into the run there will also be a prize for the best fancy dress; let your imaginations run wild!
