BADMINTON: End of season awards
Rugby Youth Badminton Squad wrapped up the 15/16 season for the junior, intermediate and senior groups with a series of round robin tournaments. The beginners group ended their season with a team competition and a variety of fun games.
The Junior Group saw Daniel Burgess hold his nerve and secure wins in all of his matches to take the trophy. Alex Farren claimed the well deserved runner up spot, losing to Daniel by just 4 points. Daniel Saunders, Rhiya Srivastav, Finlay Miles and Dylan Mistry all contributed to an excellent and competitive tournament, with some matches only having one point between winning and losing!

Whilst winning the same number of matches as Anna Farren , Isaac squeezed into top spot beating Anna into second place by just one point. In a close run competition Matthew Sirman, Alankrit Mata and Jack Liepa also had high scores with only five points separating top and bottom of the table.
The Gloria Hudson Rosebowl, the trophy awarded in the senior competition, was awarded to Lewis Hudson, who won all his matches. Another closely fought competition saw second, third and forth places separated by only 4 points. Second place went to Ashley Bodycote with Catie Taylor, Parth Joshi, and Luke Francis all putting in a great effort.
Everyone gave their all and every point was hard won in some engaging contests. Rivalries are certain to be renewed next season.
Awards for the Most Improved Player in each of the five groups went to Ruby Slatcher, Akash Mistry, Beth Wordley, Jack Liepa and Luke Francis.
