Ben Haigh and Derek Hall scored 19 points apiece in a one-sided affair at Henley College with coach Tom Masterson using the opportunity to give everyone a game.

“I was really happy with the way the team set themselves up and played the game,” said Masterson.

“It was also nice to have a full team which gave me lots of options.

“I still think there are things we can improve on and I have told the team that they have set a standard which I want to see repeated or bettered for the rest of the season.”

Bears scored directly from the start and set the tone in the opening minute, with their dominant defence denying Titans scoring opportunities.

When Bears gained possession they invariably made it count, with ten players getting on the scoresheet.

Bears’ second string ground out a 38-25 win over Thames Valley Kings in a scrappy affair to complete the double over their Third Division opponents.

With the scores level at half-time, Bears gained the upper hand in the third quarter, restricting their opponents to just two scoring chances.

That enabled the hosts to open up a ten-point lead which they extended in the final quarter.

Mason Hall was Bears’ top points scorer with 12 followed by Dan Gill with ten.
