Midlands double for Cleary’s ABC

Vale gained a unanimous decision over Solihull ABC fighter Tommy Larkin, moving in front in the last round thanks to a string of stinging upper-cuts.

Manku received the nod from four of the five judges in his fight against I Malik (Wellington ABC).

Both fighters will now go on to compete in the quarter-finals of the Nationals.

Meanwhile, Paul Dable bounced back from his one-sided debut defeat to claim victory on a Tamworth ABC-hosted show.

The Cleary’s boxer was again facing a much taller opponent, but he showed no hangover from his defeat to Ryan Fuller to beat C Hamblin of Derby City.

In the best fight of the night, Cleary’s ABC novice Wail Jan Mangal Khan was unlucky to lose out on a split decision to P Kaminski (Reading ABC).

The duo traded punches in the centre of the ring for the full three rounds, with Kaminski edging the contest 3-2.
