Orthodox win for Sean

Southpaw boxer Sean Greenfield’s switch to orthodox paid dividends on Sunday when he stopped Paul Gubb in the second round of their ABA Novice Championships quarter-final.

The Cleary’s ABC boxer caught the previously unbeaten Gubb with a left hook to the body and, although the fighter beat the count, the referee decided he was unfit to continue.

Greenfield had been feeling some discomfort in his left thumb, but he is confident the injury will have healed in time for tomorrow’s national semi-final at Brigg BC in Lincolnshire.
