The 20 year old came through the system at Walsall, playing for the Saddlers reserve side and making the first team squad, before spending the last 18 months with Birmingham City’s Football Development and Education Programme, which saw him take in spells at Boldmere St Michaels, Rushall Olympic and Alvechurch, where he first came to the attention of Paul Holleran in a Birmingham Senior Cup tie against the Brakes at Lye Meadow back in 2012.

Having tracked the 6ft 5” keeper for over 12 months, the Leamington manager was delighted to have sealed the deal.

‘We’ve had a look at Liam, he’s still at a young age, he’s had a stint in the professional game and has come out and played a bit of non league football and has done well.

We think there’s a bit of potential in him so it’s great to get him on board.

He can work with Neil Collett (Leamington’s other new goalkeeping signing) and push him, it’s important that we have that competition this year.

He has all the attributes to be a top non-league goalkeeper so if he can hit the ground running we might just have a great player on our hands’
