Brazier is county champion

Westgate School pupil Jessica Brazier dropped just one game on her way to becoming Warwickshire under-11 girls’ champion.

Brazier, who had already won her category in the Coventry-area Championships, beat Harriet Bradley 3-0, Amelia Bradley 3-1 and Charlotte Stanford 3-0 to claim the trophy which was presented at a school assembly by Warwickshire coach Mo Sarwar.

Brazier, who took up squash at the age of six, has recently been called up to train with the regional squad and her father Chris says her achievements owe much to the support she has received from LA Fitness in Warwick.

“Credit for Jessica’s success must go to the coaches at the club, especially Paul Dakin who had trained and mentored Jess for the four years she has been playing,” said her proud father.
