Clinton in good heart ahead of assault on National 50 TT

Returning to racing after several weeks off, Clinton cruised to victory at the Redditch Road & Path CC ten-mile time trial.

With two-thirds of the course directly into a headwind, the Kenilworth rider’s time of 20min 1sec was 30 seconds outside his course best.

However, it was still enough to put him almost a minute-and-a-half clear of second-placed Craig McKee (Rugby Racing).

The following day, Clinton was again victorious at Shirley RC’s 50-mile promotion, battling cold and windy conditions to clock a PB of 1:44:04 (28.9mph) to finish 5:55 clear of Worcester’s Mark Corbett.
