Hollingsworth bowls Warwickshire into Blind Sport cup final

An impressive bowling performance from Arnold Lodge pupil Justin Hollingsworth helped Warwickshire Cricket Club for the Visually Impaired make it through to the British Blind Sport cup final.

Fourteen-year-old Hollingsworth took three for 20, while captain Nathan Foy claimed three for 23 as opponents Hampshire were dismissed for 152.

After a shaky start which saw them lose three early wickets, Warwickshire made light work of the target thanks to a quickfire 77 not out off 60 balls from Luke Sugg and an unbeaten 33 from Paul Powers.

Warwickshire now go on to face South Wales Dragons in the final at the County Ground, Bristol, on August 13.

Warwickshire, who play their home games at Leamington’s Arlington Avenue ground, offer competitive cricket to people with visual impairment and have games most weekends throughout the summer.

Thanks to funding from the Primary Club and Leamington Round Table the club has been able to buy new kit for the 2011 season and set up a development programme to encourage new people into the sport.
