Leamington pinned down by Pinner

Leamington went down by eight wickets to Kidderminster Victoria in what was a very disappointing defeat.

After losing an hour due to rain, Leamington lost the toss and were put into bat in a match reduced to 46 overs each.

Leamington were soon struggling as they were reduced to 11-2.

The Lewis brothers put on 89 for the third wicket before Mark was adjudged lbw for 43.

Tom went on to to complete a well-deserved 57 but, other than Hopkins (21), Leamington offered little resistance and finished on 167-8, which was around 30 runs below par on a decent wicket.

For Kidderminster, Pinner was the star of the show as he finished with 6-48 off 11 overs.

In reply, Kidderminster never looked in danger as Wood batted through the innings to score an excellent 107 not out.

Wood and Kimberlin (36) got Kidderminster off to a flyer before Young had Kimberlin out lbw.

There was some hope for Leamington when Pinner was caught behind off the bowling of Khalid but Wood increased his scoring rate and guided Kidderminster to a comfortable eight-wicket victory.

Leamington will be disappointed in the ease which Kidderminster won and will be looking to get back on track away at Wellington.

Leamington 2nds (178-10) drew with Kidderminster Victoria (133-7).

After a rain delay, Leamington were inserted on a very good wicket and lost the prolific Hawkes father and son duo early on.

Richard Swann (24) and Simon Magill (39) put the bad ball away but both got out while well set. Skipper James Uddin came and went to leave the score on a rather precarious 93-5.

However, youngsters Darrel Williams (35) and Dexter Purser (25) put together a very mature partnership of 45 and along with some late order hitting got the total up to 178.

Having bowled out Leamington in the 39th of 43 overs, Kidderminster had 47 overs to chase the modest target.

Excellent opening bowling by Haasan Dar and young Tom Davison put immediate pressure on the batsmen and when James Uddin came on the scoring had virtually stopped.

Wickets fell to Dar (2-54), Uddin (2-14), and Jack Hawkes (2-14) while some excellent leg spin from Darrel Williams went unrewarded.

After 47 overs the Kiddi reply had meandered to 133-7.

A thrilling home victory for Leamington 4ths over Kings Heath on Saturday ended the visitors’ 100 per cent record.

Playing their ‘home game’ at King Edward’s School in Stratford, Leamington batted first on a bowler friendly wicket.

They subsided to 57 for 6, despite 23 from James Cowan.

The tail wagged to good effect however - with Nathan Credgington (29) and Jim Morton (20), as Leamington closed on 141 all out.

Kings Heath made an excellent start, adding 59 for the first wicket.

The introduction of Billy Hallett changed the game, as he built up a head of steam in a 12-over spell that brought him five wickets at a cost of 34 runs.

At 104 for 4 Kings Heath were still in the box seat, but James Cowan was introduced for the first time this season, and he found conditions to his liking as he took 4 for 15.

Kings Heath subsided to 118 allout.
