Last August’s inaugural competition proved a massive success, as big crowds experienced the thrill of watching the county’s four leading clubs contest the only floodlit tournament played away from Edgbaston.

Following a hard-fought round-robin competition, Leamington lifted the trophy courtesy of a nail-biting final win against Berkswell.

Last year’s finalists are joined in the 2013 competition by fellow Birmingham Premier League clubs Kenilworth Wardens and Knowle & Dorridge for what promises to be a spectacular week’s cricket.

The acquisition of victorious Leamington captain Alex Phillips, plus the inclusion of former Glamorgan and Warwickshire star David Hemp and South African batsman Dominic Hendricks, sees K&D start the competition as narrow favourites.

However, Wardens skipper Martin Donald says it is impossible to pick a winner.

“Knowle & Dorridge do look very strong on paper, and are the highest-ranked side of the four based on current Premier League tables.

“However, no one expected Leamington to win last year beforehand, and they were absolutely outstanding over the course of the week.”

Matches commence at 5.30pm and 7.50pm each evening between Monday and Thursday, with entry costing £5 per car or £2 on foot.
