After home skipper James Wynn-Evans had elected to bat, Warwick lost Steve Smith to a hamstring strain before a 61-run second-wicket partnership between Jon Davis (20) and Ross Briscoe (38) put them in a strong position at the half-way point.

Briscoe was dismissed shortly after drinks which slowed the run rate but Matt Warren scored 15 and Wynn-Evans 29 as Warwick posted 163 for eight from their 50 overs.

Barney Kelso claimed three for 32 for the visitors.

Paul Jackson (4-26) then ripped through the Studley top order, claiming four wickets, including one to a stunning catch by Steve Dyer, as the visitors slumped to 49 for five.

Jawaad Nazir (16) and Stuart Harris (20 not out) batted sensibly to fashion some sort of recovery before Wynn-Evans (5-10) continued his fine form with the ball, running through the tail to dismiss Studley for 97.

Warwick 2nds, meanwhile, went down to a nine-wicket defeat at Bablake.

Batting first, Warwick were dismissed for just 127 in the face of a fine spell of bowling from first-change Mohammed Nadeem (7-32).

Naresh Airody resisted the home attack for a time until he fell for 23 while Paul Shawcross provided a late rally with 25.

Despite losing an early wicket to Joe Poole, Bablake made light of the run chase thanks to unbeaten half-centuries from Duncan Keenan and John Lidster, reaching their target in the 30th over.

Warwick fell to a five-wicket defeat in a friendly at Olton and West Warwicks on Sunday despite an unbeaten century from Rajan Bhatti.

Batting first, Warwick started well thanks to Glen Jackson (14) and Thomas Cox (35), but it was Bhatti who made the telling contribution with a stunning 101 not out as Warwick closed on 203 for five.

In reply, Ben Brookes struck a fine 64 to put Olton in a strong position and it was left to Munaf Mohammed (37 not out)and Kamran Kayani (18 not out) to guide Olton to victory.
