It’s been another weekend of success for Team Jewson-MI Racing-Polypipe.

Following his victory in the early season road race at Towcester, two weeks ago, which was round one of the New Over 65 + National Road Race series, Martin Hackley from Dunchurch finished third in this weekend’s 40- mile Pinvin Road Race, near Worcester. After round two in the National series he is still leading the series overall.

On a cold and blustery day, Hackley and his team mate controlled things leaving Martin to fight out the major places in a sprint finish.

Team member Rob O’Connor, who also won his road race two weeks ago, has had to stay off the bike for several weeks following a shoulder operation, as a result of a crash last September.

Team MI Racing organise the first Open Time Trial of the season in the Coventry area this year, a 17½ mile hilly event, based at Napton, near Southam. The event starts at 10am on Easter Monday.

Team Boss Mick Ives is bitterly disappointed with the low entry, with his own team - who only have a few time trialists - providing half the field. There are, however, several very fast riders including Jonathan Wears from Shipston on Stour. Jewson are the event sponsors.
