Paddy Doyle had to dig deep to move one step closer to his dream of achieving 300 strength/speed/stamina records.

For the last six months Doyle has been in constant pain, suffering from a badly torn shoulder and bicep and hamstring injuries.

However, he was still able to stretch the record for the most para jumps (burpees) in a minute while carrying a 100lb backpack, taking it from five to 11.

Doyle said: “I am looking forward to the historical 300th title.

“I have proved myself time and time again, beating some of the top Guinness World Record holders.

“Some of the hardest records were the martials arts/boxing records. I remember very clearly the lumps, bumps, bruises, cuts and broken bones.”

Doyle hopes to complete his 300th record at the Royal British Legion Club in Berkswell on August 17.

Meanwhile, Doyle’s training partner Vince Brereton also got in the record-breaking act by setting a new mark for strict burpees, with 125 in 6min 22sec.

Brereton, 46, who owns Camerama in Kenilworth, also recently teamed up with friend Tony Rolli to climb all 16 3,000ft-plus mountains in north Wales.

Starting out from the top of Snowdon, the self-supported duo took 18 hours to complete their challenge, finishing on Foel-fras and then driving home straight after.
