The Balsall Common-based endurance athlete achieved the milestone at the Royal British Legion Club, completing 31 step-ups on a 15-inch bench while carrying a 100lb backpack to beat the previous Guinness mark by two.

Supported by his team of pacers and training partners, Doyle kept the backpack in place to surpass the record for squat jump (jumping jacks) in a minute, which had previously stood at 41.

Doyle improved the record by ten before completing 25 military star jumps in a minute carrying the backpack - an improvement on five.

The veteran then embarked on a gruelling 10k cross-country speed march, carrying the backpack over stiles, through muddy footpaths, fields and inclines.

Feeling exhausted from the previous challenges, he pushed himself to the finish line in a time of 2hr 6min 59sec, knocking 23 minutes off the Guinness benchmark.

“I was worried that my ongoing injuries were going to kick in and stop me,” admitted Doyle.

“However, I knew I had to dig deep and stay focused no matter whether I collapsed or not.

“It has taken me 26 years to reach this historical milestone and being the first in the world [to complete 300 records] is an honour.

“Surpassing the 300 fitness-endurance record target was truly unbelievable and being encouraged by the supporters helped me immensely - my team were behind me 100 per cent.

“I will have a rest for a few weeks and relax and heal my body, and look forward to getting back into training in the near future.”

Doyle has now completed 303 documented recorded feats and currently holds 201 strength/speed/stamina records.
