Doyle marches into record books
Paddy Doyle slung on his 100lb backpack once more to smash the world record for a 13-mile speed march.
Doyle waded through muddy paths, climbed over stiles and negotiated overgrown fields to complete the Arden Challenge walk in 4hr 18min, an improvement of 39 minutes on the old mark.

Hide AdTo make it more demanding, Doyle had to self-navigate around the measured route , which finished in Henley-in-Arden.
Doyle, who now has 298 strength, speed, stamina records, said: “I was carrying numerous injuries which were affecting my focus but I did not want to tell the other team members as this would not have helped with moral.”
