Doyle records four more strength feats

Paddy Doyle moved four closer to his goal of becoming the first endurance athlete to achieve 300 strength/speed/stamina records at Stamina’s Gym in Erdington.

Doyle set the fastest time for 20 back-of-the-hand push-ups while carrying a 100lb backpack, taking just 32.56 seconds to complete the task.

He then smashed the Guinness record for the abdominal plank carrying a 100lb backpack, with his time of 2min 56sec beating the previous mark by 30 seconds.

Doyle went on to complete 32 strict squats carrying a 100lb backpack plus two 25kg dumbbells in two minutes before finishing off with 38 strict squats in a minute, also with a 100lb backpack in a minute.

Doyle’s career strength/speed/ stamina records currently stand at 273 and he said he has had to battle the elements in addition to physical pain to extend his run.

“It’s been a very hard three weeks, achieving 12 world records,” said Doyle.

“It has pushed me mentally but has not broken me.

“The training has been hard, training in the outdoors in the rain.

“But that is when you should train and not look for excuses.”
