Ellis makes the step up in style
Spa Striders’Mike Ellis was an impressive 88th male at the Vitruvian Half Ironman triathlon at Rutland Water in 4hr 48min 55sec.
It was the first time Ellis had completed the half ironman distance, comprising a 1900m swim, 85k bike and 21k run.
Clubmate Dawn Clark was the 34th female in 5:18:14, while a Striders relay team made up of Ben Parkinson on the swim, Kate Parkinson on the bike and Barbara Gunter on the run finished 17th in 5:52:40.
