The Manchester-based side have yet to taste defeat this season and took an early grip on the game with three goals inside the first nine minutes.

Brooklands bossed possession and were 5-0 up by the half-hour mark, with the league’s leading goalscorer Peter Flanagan having grabbed two.

A smart short-corner routine between Aaron Nagra and Dave Harris allowed Khalsa to pull one back and Harris doubled his and the visitors’ tally shortly before the break.

However, with Brooklands’ short-corner-takers on fire -six of their ten goals came from set-pieces - and Flanagan taking his personal haul to five after the break, Khalsa finished the game soundly beaten.

Khalsa have a long time to dwell on their defeat, with their next National League game not until February.

A Thalveer Singh Khehra drag-flick earned Khalsa 2nds all three points against Melton in Midlands One.

Navdeep Singh Hayer and Ray Hung’s tireless running provided the freedom for the strikers to free their arms with Adrian Betts and Savhan Singh Lall scoring before Khehra’s strike secured a 3-2 win.  

Khalsa 3rds conceded three times in the opening ten minutes on the way to a 6-1 defeat against Burton.

Khalsa were only trailing 2-1 at the break but indiscipline contributed to a poor second-half display.
