Brakes sign new striker

Brakes boss Paul Holleran has been busy in the transfer market again and has bolstered his strike force further with the acquisition of Jimmy Deabill, who finished last season at rivals Redditch United.

Holleran had been impressed with what he had seen of the tall front man during his time with the Worcestershire side, and said that while the 23-year-old possesses the same hunger and desire to succeed as Brakes’ other two new strikers Dean Perrow and Lewis Powell, Deabill will also bring different attributes to the squad.

At 6ft 5ins Deabill could be described as a ‘target man’, but is equally adept with the ball at his feet and also with his head.

As a youngster he was prolific in the Hellenic League for Kidlington, and received the league’s player of the year award in 2009, voted for by players and managers.

He switched to Oxford City in the summer of 2011 but moved on to North Leigh for a brief spell before being snapped up by Graham Hyde at Redditch in October, scoring eight goals for the Reds.
