Brakes to open with Leicester City clash

Championship big guns Leicester City will kick-off their pre-season preparations with a visit to the New Windmill on Friday July 12 (7pm).

Nigel Pearson’s side missed out on a trip to Wembley after a dramatic conclusion to their play-off semi-final against Watford and are promising to bring a strong side to face Brakes in what will be both sides’ first warm-up game.

Home fans will be hoping former striker Jacob Blyth will be part of the Foxes squad, having left the New Windmill for The KingPower Stadium last summer.

In his first year at Leicester, Blyth finished as top scorer for their Development side and also gained Football League experience at Burton Albion and Notts County.

A trip to Evesham United’s The Spiers & Hartwell Jubilee Stadium is the latest addition to a pre-season schedule which will also see Brakes travel to Stratford Town and entertain Nuneaton and FC United of Manchester.
