Stranded Racers keeper Conal Dowling was relieved to see Keith Draper’s audacious lob from the half-way line drift wide, before being called into action to deny Roy Dunkley in a one-on-one.

However, Racing Club were having the better of the first half and they deservedly went ahead in the 35th minute when Elliot Powell latched on to a high ball over the top and slotted home.

Three minutes later Earlswood were reduced to ten men when Keith Draper was sent off for retaliation.

The visitors looked to press home their advantage but found Earls keeper Josh Benton in fine form.

Racers continued to dominate after the break, wasting two gilt-edged opportunities before doubling their lead on the hour, Jamie Corrigan’s free-kick just evading the outstretched arm of Benson.

Myles Jones headed a shot off the line to prevent Racing Club increasing the lead and the complexion of the game changed with 20 minutes remaining with the introduction of Earlswood’s Bradley Hall.

With Hall causing havoc down the right wing, fellow substitute David Barfield shot just wide, while at the other end Benton was called on to make a last-ditch save with his feet.

Dowling produced a good save at the foot of his post to deny Jones and Chris Conway wasted a one-on-one before Earlswood snatched a consolation three minutes from time through Carl Redden.
