Edwards delighted as promoted Racing Club Warwick hit rich vein of form
Southern League Premier Central new boys Racing Club Warwick are hoping to continue their rich vein of form with two more games looming in quick succession.
A 4-2 away win at Bishop's Stortford on Saturday was followed by a sensational 5-1 home win against Halesowen Town on Tuesday, all five goals coming in the first half, to make it three wins and a draw in a busy October.

Now up to 10th, Saturday away at a Leighton Town side that sit second bottom, followed by a Tuesday home clash against Redditch United on Tuesday, looks inviting, but joint manager Jack Edwards warned: “We all know the games you get up for are the Halesowens and the local derbies with the Stratfords and Leamingtons.
“So it will be a real test for us on Saturday against another eastern team we don't know too much about.
“We will do our research before training and then present our strategy to the players.
“But I think, as shown on Tuesday night, it doesn't matter how much you know about the opposition, and we knew quite a bit on Tuesday, the main factors are motivation, energy and enthusiasm and playing to your strengths. We had that in abundance on Tuesday so we want to see more of the same.
“We came into this block of games with Saturday/Tuesday/Saturday/Tuesday thinking it is a good opportunity and maybe make or break for the season.
“But we have now comprehensively won the last two games back to back, scoring nine goals, so it's been the stuff of dreams really.”
On this week so far, Edwards said: “We've got on a bit of a run in the last four of five games and really turned the tide.
“We always thought it was going to happen.
“Saturday was a good result, coming from behind, and gave us a good feeling going into Tuesday. We were right at the races and hit them hard early, scoring five goals in 40 minutes.
“We had been thinking we would end up putting a few goals past a team here at some point but we never thought it would be Halesowen if I am honest.
“Especially against a formidable management team in Russell Penn and Paul Holleran – my old manager.
“I probably could have picked a better game to do as it made it less sweet as it was against people I like and know well, but we will look after ourselves and it was a fantastic evening for the club.”
He added: “We have been pretty pleased all season really. We have been in every game and looked like we could score four or five in every game. But we just haven't quite finished the chances, hitting the post and bar so many times.
“At some point those chances were going to turn into goals.
“We had a plan on Tuesday. We were quite direct, really combative up front, really dynamic – everything we had asked them for.
“Everything just fell into place and we are really happy with what we have and our transition from being a Step 4 team to a Step 3 team.”
