After coming from 5-1 down to beat Norway 7-5 in their opener, England succumbed to the best team in the tournament, losing 9-2 to Russia.

This left them needing a victory over France in their final game on Sunday to give themselves a chance of securing a place in the final.

They went down 7-5 but head coach Paul Harrison said his side was sure to benefit from their tournament exposure. “The experience of playing the best team in the Europe was fantastic and we will learn from our mistakes and build on our performances.”

Manoochehri, who played in all three matches, returns to the Southam squad for the visit to Pelsall Villa tomorrow.
