Semi-final

Halas Hawks 0

Rugby Town Ladies 8

Sunday saw the Rugby Town Ladies take on Halas Hawks in the semi-final of the Birmingham County League Open Cup. The ladies didn’t make the best start, however they soon got into the game and started showing how they could play. Kathryn Watkins opened the scoring with excellent individual play and a great finish in the right corner.

Tireless work in midfield from Caitlin Revan and Natalie Kimberlin ensured the pressure stayed in the Halas Hawks’ half for much of the game, with goals coming from all over the pitch.

When the Halas Hawks looked tired, Rugby Town continued to pile on the pressure, attacking through the middle as well as through wingers Kayleigh Oseman and Kerri Young.

The ladies played with experience, scoring goals right until the final whistle. The game ended 8-0, with the ladies comfortably going through to the final against Boldmere, a team currently unbeaten in the league. Another great achievement for the ladies and their cup run continues.
