Kenilworth Town: Reserves are better by Myles

KENILWORTH Town Reserves were in prolific goalscoring form over the Easter weekend as they found the net 15 times in their two fixtures.

The visit of top of the league Shipston on Saturday should have been a much sterner test for Town but the hosts were in fine form and dominated possesion from the off.

Simon Myles started the rout by charging down the Shipston keeper’s clearance and rolling the ball into the empty net.

Myles added another and a wonder strike from Nickey Playdon and a deft lob from Mark Rutherford saw them go in 4-1 up at the break.

Shipston pulled another back just after half-time but this was just a consolation as Myles forced a visiting defnder into scoring an own goal which helped Town to a 5-2 victory.

Full of confidence from this result, town swept aside vistors Astwood Bank with ease on Monday.

Myles scored a hat-trick while Rutherford and Hanlon got a brace apiece.

Playdon, who had previously been the provider, added another and Liam Kara and subsitute Simon Pickering also got on the scoresheet to seal a stunning 10-0 win and push Town further up the Stratford Alliance table.
