Leicester City visit is the talk of the town

Leamington boss Paul Holleran says the visit of Championship big-hitters Leicester City tomorrow evening is as much for the fans as it is for the players.

Nigel Pearson’s side kick-off their pre-season campaign with the wounds of their dramatic play-off defeat to Watford still raw.

Pearson is expected to unleash a full-strength squad and while Holleran accepts his side will be given the runaround, he believes it is a small price to pay for the prestige the game brings.

“It might only be pre-season but it’s all about getting people interested and through the gate,” said Holleran who is a close friend of Foxes assistant manager Craig Shakespeare.

“I’ve done 20 pre-seasons and they become boring and repetitive.

“So it’s about getting games which give the fans something to talk about and the players something to look forward to.”
