Racers were on the back foot early on as Littleton used their wind advantage to create several half-chances.

However, the closest they came to breaking the deadlock was a rattling of the crossbar from 30 yards.

With the conditions in their favour after the break, Racing took control, with Tez Morton firing against the crossbar in the 48th minute following a neat one-two.

Four minutes later, Racers opened the scoring.

Ryan Langmead outpaced the visitors’ full-back and put in a fantastic ball to Jelson whose first touch set him up for a powerful left-foot strike which flashed across the keeper and into the bottom corner.

The goal opened up the game and Racing Club had several chances on the break to finish Littleton off.

Jake Brown dropped a shoulder and hit the crossbar from 20 yards before carving out a chance for Jamie Corrigan after a mazy run, with Corrigan’s fierce shot drawing a fine save from the Littleton keeper.
