Morley picks up Brakes’ top award

The end-of-season presentation at the New Windmill saw Leamington players and volunteers recognised for their achievements in the past year.

Defender Stephan Morley won the supporters’ player of the year award, with fellow defender Jamie Hood runner-up.

Morley also picked up the players’ player of the year award, with Hood getting the vote as manager Paul Holleran’s player of the year.

Jacob Blyth collected the top goalscorer award having notched 17 league goals and 20 in total.

Development section chairman Mark Davidson was named the clubman of the year in recognition of his efforts on behalf of the club within the community in addition to his duties as first team kit man and club welfare officer.

Groundman Idris Elms was the recipient of the Don Hartwell award from the vice-presidents club for his fantastic efforts on behalf of the club for more than a decade.

The Banter forum awarded the Matt Blunt Trophy to Morley and voted Michael Tuohy’s stunning strike at Hemel as the goal of the season.

n Trials for Leamington’s Development Squad teams will take place at Stockton Sports Club in Napton Road on Saturday May 26 and Saturday June 9.

Under-18s will run from 11am to 1pm, with the under-16s following from 1pm to 3pm. Trials for the under-14s will be held from noon to 2pm,

Try-outs for Leamington’s newly formed youth team, will run alongside the under-18 trials.
