RACING CLUB WARWICK 2 PILKINGTON XXX 1

Two injury-time goals gave Racing Club a dramatic victory over Pilkington to make it three successive wins for Lee Knight’s in-form side.

The hosts dominated the Midland Combination Premier encounter, but found themselves trailing as the game entered five minutes of added time.

However, Michael Crawford held his nerve to net a 91st-minute penalty before Andre Tulloch headed home Reece Lynch’s cross with barely second remaining.

“It must go down as the most memorable win since I’ve been here,” said Knight.

“Pilkington are one of the teams we should be beating with the quality we have got, but the manner of the win makes it one of the best we’ve had.

“To show the resolve we did - we could easily have lost that game 1-0 - and to score with ten seconds to go made it ever sweeter.”

Racing Club take a break from league action tomorrow when they entertain West Midlands (Regional) League Premier Division side Bromyard Town in the FA Carlsberg Vase second round qualifying.

John Dale’s side have won just one of their opening eight league games and Knight sees it as another game Racers can win.

“After the Earlswood win, I earmarked this month as one were we could go through unbeaten - ideally I would have loved a midweek game.

“We’re going into every game full of confidence and it’s the most vibrant I have seen the place.”
