The fixture features a host of free entertainment, including a children’s fun bus, face painting, bouncy castle and an inflatable slide.

A family ticket, covering two adults and two children, booked in advance costs £30 for entry to both the main and course enclosures and includes an ice cream for each child.

General manager Huw Williams is hoping for good weather and a large crowd, saying: “Children and adults alike will love our first dedicated family fun day of 2013 as it has something for everyone, whatever age they are.

“The course enclosure will be at the heart of the action for the youngsters who can burn off their energy throughout the afternoon with plenty of entertainment just for them.”

The race action begins at 2.05pm with the Join Today At rewards4racing.com Apprentice Handicap over a mile.

The final race is the Follow Us On Twitter @WarwickRaces Handicap over an extended mile-and-a-quarter at 5.10pm.

Warwick is one of five courses staging flat racing during the afternoon, so field sizes could be affected. But, with 179 entries, there should be competitive racing throughout the card.

Champion trainer Richard Hannon is again firing in the winners and he was on the mark with Mysterial at the last meeting, his 12th success at the track in the last five years.

He has a total of five entries on the card, including the unraced pair, A Childs Dream and Prize, in the second, the British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing EBF Maiden Stakes.

Hannon does particularly well with his juveniles and both will know their job, but A Childs Dream is also engaged at Goodwood tomorrow (Saturday), so it will be interesting to see which one he selects.

The meeting is quickly followed by Ladies’ Night on Saturday week when DJ Pat Sharp will entertain the crowd after racing.
