Gamble makes the grade

Kenilworth player Grace Gamble enjoyed a fine end to the year with victory at the David Lloyd Birmingham nine and under Christmas Open.

Competing in Grade 4 of the county level tournament, Gamble won all of her group games to qualify for the final, which she went on to win 7-5, 7-5.

Gamble followed up her victory with an impressive performance at the University of Warwick Christmas Open.

Stepping up to Grade 3, Gamble qualified for the quarter-finals by winning three of her four group matches.

She then put up a brave fight before bowing out 7-4, 9-7 to Nottinghamshire’s Amelia Rajeski.
