Greenkeepers claim Whitnash silverware
Turf management specialists Avonmore Associates have been presented with Whitnash Sports and Social Club’s Margaret Billington Trophy after raising the standard of the club’s bowling green to among the best in Warwickshire.
The trophy is awarded annually by the club’s bowls committee to the person or persons who in their opinion has made the most significant contribution to the section during the year.
The presentation was made by Roy Evans, president of the Whitnash club, who said this was the first time this trophy had been awarded to non-members.
Philip Butler, a partner at Avonmore Associates, received the award on behalf of the company.
