HALF TERM FUN: Bikeability and multi-sport club

MULTI-SPORT HOLIDAY CLUB

Sporty youngsters looking for a fun way to spend half-term are invited to join the Harris CofE Academy Sports Centre Multi-Sport Holiday Club.

Open to children aged 6-14 the sessions from February 15-19 cost £12 per day and run from 9am to 4pm at the Mellish Road site. Early and late pick-ups from 8am to 6pm are available, costing £3 each or £5 for both.

BIKEABILITY

Bikeability - ‘cycling proficiency’ for the 21st century - is designed to give young people the skills and confidence to ride safely on today’s roads.

During the past academic year, Harris CofE Academy School Sports Partnership has delivered level 1 and level 2 Bikeability training to over 600 primary pupils.

The Partnership is pleased to announce that they will be running more Bikeability courses during February half term.

All the courses will be run at Harris Cof E Academy’s Sport Centre in Mellish Road, Rugby.

Level 2 Training for pupils in year 5&6 prepares them for cycling on the public highway for short journeys such as from home to school. There’s a choice of days, either on Wednesday, February 17 or Thursday, February 18, running from 9.15am to 4pm. The cost is £20 per child

Level 1 Training for pupils in years 4 & 5 teaches basic cycle control skills in a safe environment away from traffic.

There is a choice of morning or afternoon session on Friday, February 19 from 9.15am to 11.30am or 12.30pm to 2.45pm. The cost is £12 per child.

Early booking is essential as places are limited and will be filled on a first come first served basis.

For an additional charge, ‘wrap around’ care in their holiday club may also be booked between 8am and 6pm.
