In-form Folkard is on target for grand final of GB National Series

Leamington’s top international recurve archer Naomi Folkard continued a very successful outdoor season at last weekend’s 2013 FITA Festival organised by Clophill Archers in Bedfordshire.

A separate FITA 70-round followed by an Olympic style head to head competition was held each day, which formed stages two and three of the Archery GB National Series event.

Folkard shot superbly all weekend to finish in third place on Saturday, beating Leamington teammate Nicola Turner into fourth, and first the following day.

Having won the first leg of the National Series last month, the 29-year-old is now in pole position for a place in the grand final in Nottingham on September 1.

Turner finished seventh on the Sunday, while fellow recurve archer Brian Tustin was ninth in the men’s event.
