King, who is a regular in the FIA European Formula 3 Championship, will race with multiple-title-winning team, Carlin, in the season opener of British F3.

The 19-year-old, who is based in Harbury, has already impressed on the international stage this season.

He has produced some stand-out performances in the opening rounds of European F3, including a sixth-place finish in front of his home crowd when the series visited the Silverstone circuit back in April.

King said: “‘We’ve already raced at Silverstone once this year so it’s given me a heads up of the track and what to expect in the Formula 3 car

“ I think that this, along with a decent amount of testing there, puts us in a good position so I’m feeling confident.”

Both ‘International’ and ‘National’ class cars will be welcomed at Silverstone over the weekend and King, who races in the faster International class, admits that the speed difference between the two classes will provide something of a challenge

He said: “The real unknown is going to be traffic – I think there’s going to be a mixture of cars on track so we’ll see but it’ll be good to be on track there again.”
