The visitors arrived at St Nicholas Park having taken just one point from their previous 27 and they looked set to extend that sequence as they trailed 3-0 shortly after half-time.

However, an amazing turnaround saw West Bridgford score four times in the space of 17 minutes to threaten their first win of the season, only for Nagra to deny them with his second goal of the game.

After early West Bridgford pressure, Khalsa took the lead through Nagra.

Jas Singh, Gurminder Ghattaura and Savhan Singh Lall came close to extending the hosts’ advantage, while West Bridgford created several chances, mainly through short corners.

After the interval, Khalsa were overrun by the West Bridgford front line, but an excellent save from Elliot Rider sparked a counter which was finished emphatically by Dave Harris.

AJas Singh cross was then deflected past his own keeper by a West Bridgford defender to give Khalsa a 3-0 lead.

After a change of formation, West Bridgford pulled a goal back courtesy of Todd Mills and the momentum quickly shifted.

Mills added a second from a short corner and Paul Sibley scored twice in three minutes to leave Khalsa 4-3 down and chasing the game.

Dave Harris was denied by the faintest of touches from the visiting keeper but, with their last attack of the match, Khalsa were handed a lifeline when Gurminder Gattaura’s shot rebounded dangerously to earn them a short corner.

And West Bridgford hearts were broken when Nagra stepped up to slot the ball home.
