Leamington appoint Greevy

Leamington Rugby Club have appointed Tom Greevy as head coach for the 2012/13 season.

Greevy, who will take on the dual role of player-coach, has a strong playing background with more than 11 years’ experience playing National League rugby in the front row or second row.

Greevy’s previous clubs include leading names in the Midlands area - Barkers Butts, Coventry, Nuneaton and Broadstreet.

In addition he has played representative rugby for Irish Exiles and Warwickshire.

His coaching experience has seen him enjoy success with Coventry University, Warwickshire Colleges, Midlands Colleges and with Warwickshire.

Leamington are also pleased to announce that Alex Carroll will continue in his role of backs coach, working alongside Greevy and Tony Timms, director of rugby.

Geevy said: “I have a challenging, but enjoyable coaching programme in place, ready for pre-season training, which starts in July and I am looking forward to the challenge of ensuring Leamington stay successful, develop as a club and progress further.”

All players and members got their first opportunity to meet the new coach at the club’s annual meeting last Tuesday.

Pre-season training stars at Moorefields on Tuesday (7pm).
